Family Promise

It is so distressing to see the problem of homelessness in our community, and even more so when it effects families with children.  While the problem may seem overwhelming we can make a difference one family at a time.  Join us as we work together with Family Promise of Orlando and other churches in our community to help families make the transition to a new start with a place they can call home.

Gateway volunteers partner with volunteers from First United Methodist Church of Winter Park to help families in need throughout the year.  Contact the church office for more information.

Through the Orange County Public School's Faith-Based Partnership, Gateway reaches out to the support the vital work of Killarney Elementary School.  Our pastor and church members volunteer to mentor students, serve in the food pantry, work in the classroom, and provide an after-school program for kids.

We encourage you to join us in supporting our local students and families, as well as the faculty and staff of Killarney Elementary.  There are many opportunities even for those who work during the day.  Call the church office or go to Additions Volunteers at OCPS.

Words from Jesus

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor" (Luke 4:18–19, CSB).

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news" (Mark 1:15, CSB).

"A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life
and have it in abundance" (John 10:10. CSB).

"As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world" (John 17:18, CSB).

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8, CSB).

Jesus came into the world fulfilling God's mission of restoration and reconciliation in his sinless life, his authoritative teachings and miracles, his sacrificial death, and his resurrection from the dead.  Jesus brought love, forgiveness, justice, mercy, healing, grace, salvation, the glory of God, and eternal life.  He called out disciples (followers of Jesus) to know him and to understand what God was doing.  He taught them and sent them out to make disciples of all peoples of all people groups around the world. Today the followers of Christ continue this worldwide mission.

By joining together with millions of others believers and tens of thousands of churches we here at Gateway are living on mission by praying, sharing the Good News, making disciples, financially supporting the work of missions, and going wherever God leads.  Below are links to some of the partnerships we have in sharing the love, compassion, truth, and Good News of Jesus around the world.  We encourage you to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by placing your faith in him, asking for and receiving his forgiveness, and joining us in living on mission as a part of the Body of Christ.
